Five Injured In Mattapan Shooting Overnight

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Five people were injured in an overnight shooting early Wednesday morning in Mattapan. Boston Police said they responded to a call for shots fired just after 2:00 a.m. at 33 Edgewater Drive in Mattapan, close to the Milton town line.

Police said five people were found on the scene shot, all with non-life threatening injuries. Three people were taken to an area hospital by an ambulance, while the two others were able to walk into an emergency room.

Officers on the scene said two people were arrested on the scene, but they hadn't been formally charged with the shooting as of early Wednesday.

Two guns were also recovered from the scene.

Boston Police stressed that the investigation was still active and ongoing in Mattapan.
