BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — They are not the typical mannequins you would find in a department store.
The colorful, flowery mannequins in the Prudential Center in the Back Bay are part of Fleurs de Villes' "Voyage" exhibit. Working with local florists, designers, growers and nurseries to create works of art, this is the first time Fleurs de Villes has brought its floral displays to Boston.
The 16 mannequins each represent a different culture from around the world, including India, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Ireland.
"The Vietnam is our favorite so far," said Lauren Berry, owner of Sweet Botanical Bakes in Medford. "We thought the shirt that was created out of the flowers was very impressive. It seemed like it was knitted together, it was very beautiful."
The exhibit is free and open to the public through Monday. People can vote on their favorite mannequins for a chance to win a vacation package to Bermuda.
"It’s nice to have a little piece of art in the Pru," Berry said.
