BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston College students kicked off their Marathon Monday with a free concert at mile 21 from hip hop star Flo Rida, who made it rain while in the rain.

Students tell WBZ's Matt Shearer that the performance was a great companion to the foot race happening nearby, giving them time to think up their best marathon cheers.

"To the runners: will you marry me?" one student said.

"I'm going to say 'slay!'" another said.

The Mile 21 activities come on the heels of a warning from the school, reminding students of its zero tolerance for public and underage drinking. Luggage and backpacks were also prohibited along the marathon route.

Either way, students say the concert made for a wild one.

"This is a party baby!" Flo Rida said to the crowd.
