BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The National Weather Service released a flood watch advisory ahead of some major expected rain.
Coming off the heels of a major heatwave, the N.W.S said heavy precipitation is expected to hit Massachusetts on Monday and stick around until Tuesday.
Forecasters projected widespread one to three inches of rain, with localized narrow bands of four to six inches of rain possible.
The N.W.S said if those bands of rainfall do arrive, it would bring the chance of localized flash flooding with it.
Low-lying areas, rivers, creeks, and roads are the most at risk of flash flooding.
Areas affected by the warning included Plymouth, Fall River, and Cape Cod.
The flood watch is also in effect for across areas of Conn. and R.I.
