BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Many travelers headed home to Florida Friday after being stuck in Massachusetts when Hurricane Milton hit earlier this week.
Around a dozen flights between Logan Airport and Florida were cancelled Friday morning, with most of them coming into Boston.
WBZ NewsRadio spoke to two women who were surprised to be headed home without incident.
“Happily, surprised [and] shocked, because it’s my hometown,” one said.

They were expecting to head home to significant damage from Milton’s wrath, but that was not the first thing on their minds.
“We’re feeling very grateful and fortunate to be able to go home and see our loved ones [who made it through the storm],” one of them added.
Tom was among those who came to Boston earlier this week on a business trip. He wasn’t too sure if his flight would be affected.
“I knew the airport was going to be closed for a while, the ones on the west coast are closed a little bit longer they’re opening up today,” he said. “Orlando opened for some domestic flights last night and I think it’s pretty much full speed today,” he added.
