CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A select group of students at Harvard University were surprised when they received an invitation to participate in a private Q&A with a special guest on Tuesday.
Unbeknownst to them, the guest was Former President Joe Biden.
The Pennsylvania native met with students Wednesday afternoon for an off-the-record seminar led by his longtime advisor and Kennedy School Institute of Politics fellow, Mike Donilon.
The visit came one day after Mr. Biden's first public speech since leaving the White House.
The university is locked in a contentious financial dispute with President Trump over his decision to freeze $2 billion of their federal funding and threats to pull the university's tax-exempt status. The backlash is a response to the Ivy League's decision not to comply with the Trump administration's latest demands.
The invitation-only event hosted about 50 students at the school's Institute of Politics.
