For Holiday Shopping Procrastinators, Time Is Running Out

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Christmas Day is just two weeks away, and those of us who like to procrastinate on holiday shopping may be running out of time.

Pressure is mounting, but it all depends on the person. While some people like to get the shopping done as soon as possible, others thrive off knowing that time is running out.

“I think I’m someone who procrastinates but like I’m good under pressure because I have that confirmation bias of figuring it out,” said Stephanie from Boston.

Stephanie said that she likes to wait days before Christmas before tackling her holiday shopping list.

Meanwhile, Tyler from New Hampshire already has his holiday gift list figured out and done ahead of time.

I am done [with] holiday shopping. Don’t need it anymore I got it out of the way and now I’m going on vacation!” Tyler said.

When asked if he is typically efficient about holiday shopping, he admitted that he can’t take credit for that.

“Absolutely not. It’s the girlfriend that made me do it,” he quipped.

Finding the perfect gift for someone can be a challenge, especially when you don’t know what they want.

“My family is usually good they just ask me, or they ask me what I want, and I tell them, or they tell me what they want so we make it easy,” said Bailey.

“I’m not going to spend my money on something you’re not going to like.”

Some said that the short amount of time between Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2024 has not made holiday shopping easier.
