BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Meteorologists with the National Weather Service are warning that a possible September Nor’Easter could hit Massachusetts this weekend.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Hayden Frank said while Nor’Easters are usually uncommon in September, he predicts wind gusts as high as 40 to 60 miles an hour, along with coastal flooding and beach erosion. The storm is expected to start late Friday and last until early Sunday.
“How far west, and how far north this storm gets is going to make a big impact on how just much wind and rain we receive,” said Frank.
Frank said the Cape and Islands are likely to be the hardest hit, and folks should be aware that with the leaves still being on the trees, it can lead to more damage and power outages.
