BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A former FedEx driver was sentenced for stealing and selling firearms from packages in his truck he was responsible for delivering, officials said Tuesday.

Frank P. O'Toole, 40, of Middleborough, was sentenced to six days in federal prison (time served), three years of supervised release, and 250 hours of community service, according to a statement from acting Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Joshua J. Levy's office.

Between October 2021 and June 2022, O'Toole stole three packages sent from out of state to a Federal Firearms Licensee. The packages contained two rifles and a shotgun, authorities said.

O'Toole sold the guns to an undercover agent during two separate controlled purchases in August 2022.

On June 16, 2023, O'Toole pleaded guilty to two counts of possession or sale of a stolen firearm.
