Former Governor Deval Patrick Endorses Michelle Wu For Boston Mayor

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick endorsed Boston City Councilor Michelle Wu just days before Boston's mayoral election on Tuesday.

Patrick said in a statement released on Friday by Wu's campaign, "Michelle's vision, intellect, energy and heart will move the City forward on housing, transportation, climate, education, public safety and so much more."

Patrick joined other local public officials who have also endorsed Wu, including Acting Mayor Kim Janey, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward J. Markey, and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley.

Wu's opponent, Annissa Essaibi George, received endorsements from former Boston police commissioner William Gross, state Representative Kevin Honan, and the Massachusetts Nurses Association, according to her campaign.
