LAWRENCE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Daniel Feuerstein informed the public via Facebook that his father, Aaron Feuerstein, passed away peacefully Thursday evening at the age of 95.
Feuerstein said, "Mr. AF, as he was known to everyone at Malden Mills, was devoted to Lawrence, Methuen, Bridgton, Hudson--and the entire Merrimack Valley. Beyond the sadness that my family is experiencing this evening, there are so many reasons to commemorate my father’s extraordinary life. He dearly loved the Malden Mills community- RIP Mr. AF."

After a fire destroyed the Malden Mills plant in Lawrence back in the December of 1995, Feuerstein famously declared that his 1,400 workers would continue to get paid while the mill was being rebuilt.
According to the Boston Globe, the company filed for bankruptcy protection in 2007, which led to its purchase by private equity firm Versa Capital Management. The company's name was later changed to Polartec.
