LAS VEGAS, Nev. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The NFL suspended former New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for the first two games of the 2024-25 season Friday for violating the NFL Players Association's performance-enhancing drugs policy.

ESPN first reported the news and predicted the Las Vegas Raiders will release the quarterback by March.

Garoppolo spent his first two NFL seasons in New England as Tom Brady's backup. In 2016, he started the first two games of the season during Brady's "Deflategate" suspension.
