BURLINGTON, Mass. (WBZ News Radio) - A group of four activists were arrested outside of the Burlington I.C.E. facility on Tuesday. Burlington Police say that all four are facing trespassing, and disturbing the peace charges.
The group Massachusetts Action for Immigrant Justice says that they were just trying to drop off care packages for the detainees.
“The care packages have juice, food, hats for warmth,” said Reverend Sarah Lusche, a member of the group.
Despite I.C.E. officials saying that the facility is used just for booking, and that the facility is clean. The group says that people are being held there for much longer. They call the conditions abysmal and unsanitary.
“This is not how we treat our fellow humans,” said Lusche.
The four people that were arrested and charged identified themselves to WBZ News Radio as Sabine von Mering, Eric Segal, Roger Rosen, and Reverend Fred Small.
They will be arraigned on Tuesday in Woburn District Court.
