FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new veteran appreciation project will hang custom banners of local veterans around Foxborough.
Michelle Hamilton, Foxborough Director of Veteran Services, told WBZ NewsRadio that “the town has never had a banner project,” and is always trying new ways to show recognition for hundreds of its local veterans.
For this special program, the banners will feature the names, photos, stories and information about the veteran's service to be hung up on poles throughout the town.
However, “we only have a limited number of banner spaces that are available,” with only 30 poles dedicated to this project, Hamilton added.
Due to the limited spaces, Hamilton said the town will have an application process to select the first group of veterans.
The application will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis, and applicants must submit a DD214, military service record, form.
In a few months, the banners will be switched out for the next group of veterans.
The application will be available in the coming weeks.
