FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An arrest has been made in the fatal weekend shooting of a father and son in Framingham.
Aneudy Delgado-Torres, 39, is charged with two counts of murder, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition. He was arrested Tuesday at a hotel Marlborough.
The Middlesex District Attorney's office said Delgado-Torres gunned down James "Manny" Wade, 45, and his son, James Wade, 24, around 11:30 p.m. Friday night near Second Street and Beaver Terrace Circle.
The elder Wade was taken to MetroWest Medical Center, where he died; his son was pronounced dead at the scene.
At a press conference Tuesday evening, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said the shooting could have been even more tragic.
"During the investigation, the police located an apartment in that complex where a bullet had penetrated the outside storm door, the interior door of the apartment, taken a ricochet off a stair railing immediately inside the apartment, and lodged into a wall immediately adjacent to where a four-year-old child and a teenager were sleeping," Ryan said.
In a release, Ryan's office said a nearby parking lot has recently seen competition among drug gangs over control of the area.
Delgado-Torres is due to be arraigned in Framingham District Court Wednesday.
