Framingham Police Investigating After Woman Was Found Dead In Apartment

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police are investigating in Framingham after a local woman was found dead in her apartment on Tuesday.

According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's Office, the victim has been identified as 28-year-old Jasmyn Beatty, a resident of Halstead Apartments on Worcester Road.

"Based on the evidence that we have gathered so far, the nature of the injury suffered by Jasmyn, which was a significant slash wound to the back of the neck, we are investigating this as a homicide," Ryan said.

Ryan said that Beatty's death was reported by a man "known to her" -- but the department is not yet sure if the attack was random or targeted.

Police said that there are no surveillance cameras on the actual property where Beatty lived -- so they are now looking for footage from cameras in the surrounding area and submitting items for forensic testing.

"We are encouraging members of the public -- particularly those living in that area -- to remain vigilant," Ryan said.

Officials are asking residents to take "normal safety precautions" like locking doors at night, keeping lights on, and reporting any activity in the area that seems suspicious.

If you have any information regarding the incident at Halstead Apartments on Tuesday or any other unusual activity, you can reach out to Framingham Police at (508) 872-1212.
