ROCKLAND, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A gamer's paradise made a appearance on the South Shore, bringing a slew of retro Nintendo, SEGA, PlayStation, and Xbox video games to the first-ever Boston Area Retro Game Show at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Rockland.

WBZ's Jim MacKay was there to walk down system memory lane, snagging a Nintendo 64 classic of Mario Kart 64 (1996) and GoldenEye 007 (1997).

"We got a collector in the corner, he's got all types of Nintendo Entertainment Systems, Super NES, SEGA Genesis, anything of the PlayStation and the newer systems," said Event Organizer Steve Gomes of Nostalgia Games in Rockland

The event didn't just have old video games either, some vintage comic books were on sale too.

Gomes says he hopes to have more events like this down the road, either in the coming months or next year.
