WRENTHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Getting off the couch after Thanksgiving dinner and going holiday gift shopping could be the next move for many.

Popular Black Friday shopping destinations were undergoing early preparations for the influx of bargain hunters in many ways. One of these locations was the Wrentham Premium Outlets, where stores will open at 6:00 a.m. on Friday.

The Area Director of Marketing Ashley Feldhouse said the complex has done away with midnight openings in hopes of better meeting people's schedules.

“We just saw more shoppers were coming more towards the morning,” she said. “It’s just easier I think on everybody [so] people can enjoy time with their families on Thanksgiving.”

Traffic leading to the outlets is expected to be backed up onto I-495. Wrentham police will also be onsite to help direct traffic.

One shopper from North Attleboro decided to look for some deals ahead of the rush and expressed their reason for going before Thanksgiving.

“Never go on Black Friday, I just don’t see the point,” they said. “I can just do it online on Monday [when] the deals seem to continue.”

For those who do hit the stores in person, Feldhouse said there will be some ways to take a break from the shopping chaos.

“We have the selfie station with props with the holiday tree to have fun while you’re shopping,” she said. “We have our fireplace lit everyday so you can take a little break from shopping.”
