Gloucester Man Charged, After Crashing Into Police Cruiser While Drunk

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) -- A Gloucester man was charged for allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a police cruiser.

A Portsmouth Police cruiser was directing traffic on Lafayette Road Wednesday night.

While the police cruiser had its blue lights on, an officer reported that they saw a car driving towards them and not slowing down.

The officer jumped out of the way before the impact.

43-year-old Scott Richardson is believed to have crashed into the police cruiser while intoxicated.

The passenger was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and is facing minor injuries.

Richardson is set to be arraigned on August 9.
