BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Governor Charlie Baker has announced the dates for the last stages of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. The next stage in the rollout starts next Monday, March 22, for people in Massachusetts ages 60 and older, and those who work in a wide variety of different jobs, including grocery store workers and restaurant employees.
Then, on April 5, anyone 55 or older or with one of the state's specified medical conditions will become eligible.
Anyone in the general public older than 16 becomes eligible for the vaccine on April 19.
Gov. Baker says this new timeline is based on "assurances that vaccine supply is increasing" from the federal government.
Baker says the state will receive around 316,000 doses of the vaccine next week.
