BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A heavy police presence descended on the former Hancock Tower Thursday morning in response to an unspecified social media threat.
Boston Police responded to 200 Clarendon Street around 8:30 a.m., swarming the building and Copley Square.
Uniformed and plainclothes officers entered the location of an unnamed occupant inside the building that received the threat.
Entrances and exits in the lobby were guarded by officers for about an hour.
They eventually found the threat to not be credible.
WBZ NewsRadio's Chris Fama said police had cleared the scene by 9:30, with just a few units staying behind.
