HARVARD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Early Thursday morning, the Harvard Police responded to the scene of a potential drowning incident at Bare Hill Pond in Harvard.
The caller indicated their friend who had gone swimming was no longer visible around 250 feet from the shoreline.
The Harvard Police, with the support of Harvard Fire and EMS services were dispatched to the scene along with a Mutual Aid Dive Team conducted a search operation effort. The search was assisted by several fire departments from surrounding communities.

A little after 2:00 a.m., the body of the missing swimmer was identified by divers. The Harvard Police Department acknowledged the rapid response and assistance of the Boxborough Police, the State Police, and all the fire departments and rescue teams involved in the rescue effort.
In the wake of this tragic incident, the Harvard Police Department advises the public to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines when participating in activities involving water.
The incident remains under investigation.
