Haverhill Public Schools Apologize For Not Calling Snow Day

HAVERHILL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Haverhill's public schools are offering up an apology for not canceling school on Tuesday. The district said the forecasts it saw predicted the rain would change to snow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, but the snow began to come down hard mid-morning.

"We called this one wrong, and we are so sorry!" HPS wrote on Facebook.

Haverhill ended up with at least 8 inches of snow, and students were dismissed early. some parents chose to pull their kids out of school early, and the district said those absences and dismissals would be excused.

Haverhill schools open on a two-hour delay on Wednesday.
