TRURO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A great white shark was spotted in the water at Head of the Meadow Beach.

Swimmers were temporarily not allowed to go into the water since the shark was seen close to the shore Saturday, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app.

The app showed the shark was reported at 10:46 a.m.

While the waters are closed, beachgoers are allowed to remain on the sand. It is unclear when officials will give the public the green light to return to the water.

On Friday, The Atlantic Shark Conservancy said a great white was detected off North Beach in Chatham.
