BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As temperatures continue to rise, a heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday through 8 p.m. Friday for all of Massachusetts except for the Cape and Islands.

Boston and surrounding communities had been experiencing extreme heat waves for the past few weeks. After a brief reprieve over the last few days, the area could once again see record temperatures.

Some residents are willing to go to extremes to get away from the heat.

“I'll tell you, I'd make a deal with the devil and have it rain every Saturday, [rather] than deal with that heat,” said one Boston resident.

AccuWeather predicts a high of 90 degrees accompanied by humid and thick air for Thursday and Friday. The National Weather Service of Boston advises people to stay in cool, air-conditioned areas if possible, take breaks if working outdoors, and drink plenty of water.

“Do not go outside, that’s the best advice I can give you,” said one Boston resident.
