Hellen Obiri Wins 127th Boston Marathon In Women's Professional

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — In her second marathon appearance, Hellen Obiri of Kenya won the 127th Boston Marathon in the Women's Professional Field with a time of 2:21:38. Officials says that's the fourth-fastest winning time in the race's history.

According to the Boston Athletic Association, Obiri is the only woman in history to win world titles in indoor and outdoor track and cross country races.

Runner ups included Amane Beriso of Ethiopia, then Lonah Salpeter of Israel, followed by Emma Bates of the United States in fifth place.
