BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and New England has access to a variety of activities to help release pent-up stress.
“I walk everyday,” one Logan traveler told WBZ NewsRadio.
Taking the time to connect with nature and soak in the sunlight are among some of the popular answers.
“[Being] in the mountains, camping hiking anything like that,” another traveler said.
If trees are not up your ally, “the beach is just so vast and open and calming and it usually takes people back to a happy place,” one resident said.
The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said nearly one in five adults reported to have suffered from anxiety in 2022, that’s up 15.6% from 2019.
With these rates on the rise, it is more important than ever to find time to “boosts serotonin and releases all these feelings inside you that makes you feel better,” one Bostonian said.
