BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — High winds, icy conditions, and frigid temperatures are in store as we start the week.
A weekend winter storm dumped as much as six inches of snow or more on several Massachusetts communities Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to the latest numbers from the National Weather Service.

The snow changed over to rain and freezing rain throughout Sunday, creating a wet, slushy mess on the ground. That slush turned icy as temperatures plummeted overnight into Monday, creating slick spots on roads and sidewalks.
Temps are expected to remain below freezing for most of the week. AccuWeather RealFeel temperatures will hit the single digits or below zero at times.
Damaging winds also rolled in over the weekend and are expected to linger over the next few days. Combined with heavy, wet snow and ice weighing on tree limbs, there is a greater risk of power outages.
As of 8:15 a.m. Monday morning, there are more than 7,000 homes and businesses without power in the state, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.
A High Wind Warning is in effect for Central and Southeast Middlesex County, Essex County, Norfolk County, and Suffolk County until 1 a.m. Tuesday.
There is also the potential for another winter storm on Thursday.
