HINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A local boy's fundraiser has far surpassed his goal of $1,000 to help the animals affected by the Australian bushfires.
The GoFundMe page set up to sell tiny handmade clay koalas, crafted by six year old Owen Colley of Hingham, has now topped $50,000.
On Tuesday, the Colley's posted that they were "humbled beyond belief" to have raised $5,000. No response yet to their fundraiser hitting ten times that amount within just 24 hours.
The Colley family is donating all donated funds to Wildlife Rescue South Coast, an Australian volunteer group that builds enclosures for displaced animals. If you'd like to donate, click here.
