BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Some local Boston businesses teamed up with CBS on Monday to celebrate the upcoming 'Blue Bloods' spin-off series called 'Boston Blue' starring Dorchester's Donnie Wahlberg.
With Boston serving as the show's backdrop, 'Boston Blue' features Detective Danny Reagan (Wahlberg) moving from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department.
As part of the 'Welcome to Boston' promotion, CBS invited local content creators on a Duck Boat tour that featured stops at various 'Boston Blue' filming locations.
Duck Boat Tour operator Creedence Commonwealth provided the narrative while passing some of the city's historic locations.
As the tour group passed by the Granary Burying Ground, Commonwealth described a scene in 'Boston Blue' where Wahlberg's character, Danny, chased a suspect through the old cemetery.
He also pointed out Boston's Old City Hall.
Along with the Duck Tour, 'Welcome to Boston' included a visit to View Boston's observation deck, and a party at the Sam Adams Tap Room.
'Boston Blue' debuts on CBS Friday night.
