BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — What’s the connection between scrambled, boiled, poached, and deviled?

The answer— an egg-cellent way start to your Tuesday on this National Egg Day.

“I eat 10 eggs a day, so every single type [is my favorite],” one Bostonian told WBZ NewsRadio.

This breakfast plate staple is a versatile ingredient but was a struggle to come by earlier this year.

“When the prices went up, it was harder to get them,” another Bostonian said.

Prices for eggs in the U.S. rose to a record high in March, averaging six dollars per dozen eggs according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That number dropped for the first time since 2023 to $5.122 in April.

And that’s welcome news for this early-bird diner.

“Instead of 36 [eggs], I’m [going to] buy 72,” he said.
