BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey is hosting a virtual benefit concert featuring a local musician, in an effort to raise funds for residents of Chelsea and Lawrence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Sen. Markey's office, Cambridge-based jazz folk-rock singer Alisa Amador will perform live on Facebook on Saturday afternoon to benefit the One Chelsea Fund and the One Lawrence Fund.
Before the performance, Sen. Markey and Amador will be discussing the impact the crisis is having on communities in Chelsea and Lawrence, two cities that have been some of the hardest hit by the pandemic in the state.
