HULL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The town of Hull has decided to give public parking a remodel — out with the meters, in with the pay-by-phone.
“We’re definitely in the 21st century,” said one local resident.
So far, the town is alerting residents of the change with signs, but the actual meter replacements will get underway in the future.
The parking changes will be throughout the town, and that includes the popular Nantasket Beach.
“You can’t beat that view, it's just gorgeous,” said Lauren, a Hull resident.
Some residents say beach parking is hard to find in the first place, but paying with an app could make life easier.
“People are actually kind of satisfied with it, I guess I can be too,” said another local resident.
Along with the PayByPhone app, the town said drivers will be able to pay by calling a number on the parking sign, or paying online.
The town said it will notify residents when the new parking system is up and running.
