PLUM ISLAND, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) -- Residents and tourists have been catching photos and videos of humpback whales feeding on schools of fish off of Plum Island this summer.
A swimmer had a close encounter with one whale, but was luckily not swallowed whole.
An abundance of bait fish are luring these humpback whales towards the about 100 meters from the shore.
The best time to spot the whales is in the morning at the southern point of the island.
