BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Days after Hamas' attack on Israel, hundreds rallied on the Boston Common Monday afternoon to show support for Israel.
Among those who attended are Gov. Maura Healey, Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and members of the Jewish community.
"What our community does is rally together to form one giant community and stand in solidarity," said one rally participant whose granddaughter is in Israel.
The Palestinian Youth Movement will also hold a rally Monday afternoon outside of Cambridge City Hall.
Meantime, local police are boosting security at houses of worship in Brookline and Boston.
Among the hundreds killed on the Israeli side of the conflict are at least nine Americans, including the daughter and son-in-law of a Brandeis University professor and a person with family in Framingham.
