Hundreds Of Law Enforcement Officers Remember State Trooper Tamar Bucci

REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The wake of Massachusetts state trooper Tamar Bucci was underway on Tuesday, as hundreds of fellow law enforcement officers lined up to honor their fallen sister.

The same day as International Women's Day, an all-female team of state troopers were pallbearers that carried Bucci's casket to transportation. According to Massachusetts State Police, Trooper Bucci's brothers and sisters of the State Police Medford Barracks received her at Saint Anthony's of Padua in Revere.

Outside, Trooper Bucci's cruiser number was staged. Many showed their respects online with Trooper Bucci's badge number: Badge Number #4440.

Officials said that hundreds of MSP Troopers were in attendance, along with other State Troopers from other states, local police officers, sheriffs' deputies and other law enforcement officers to pay their respects to Trooper Bucci.

Trooper Bucci of Woburn lost her life when her vehicle was struck by a tanker while assisting a driver on the side of I-93. The late Trooper had graduated from Andover High School and Middlesex Community College. Bucci became a State Trooper in 2020 after graduating from the State Police Academy amidst the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MSP said that Trooper Bucci was a member of the Division of Field Services, patrol division, and was formerly assigned to State Police-Brookfield. Trooper Bucci died in the line of duty as an active member of the State Police-Medford.
