FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds of yogis took to their mats for a good cause on Sunday in Foxborough, Mass.
Yoga Reaches Out has raised nearly $5 million for Boston Children’s Hospital and on Sunday they welcomed over 800 people to practice yoga at the WIN Waste Innovations Field House at Gillette Stadium. Sarah Gardner founded Yoga Reaches Out 14 years ago.
“My son Will, who’s about to graduate from college in two weeks, was born 10 weeks early. He was in the [neonatal intensive care unit] for seven-and-a-half weeks. He was three pounds and after you go through something like that, all you want to do is say thank you and give back,” said Gardner.

Emma Bouthillette was one of the instructors and said an 11-hour surgery on a brain tumor saved her life.
“I was 5 years old when I was rushed to Boston Children’s for surgery. Without Boston Children's Hospital, I don’t know if I’d be here today,” said Bouthillette.
Bouthillette said the event was a way for her to give back to the children, families and caregivers.
“It warms my heart so much. The energy of everybody sharing in practice [and] coming together for the same cause is just incredible,” said Bouthillette.
The event raised almost $500,000 for the Children’s Hospital as of Monday morning.
