BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the Massachusetts State House Wednesday to protest against the Trump Administration and Project 2025.
Similar rallies were held in cities across the United States.

"In all the protest movements I’ve been to, I’ve never been to one that has more, sort of, ideological diversity," one man told WBZ NewsRadio.
A uniting factor among the crowd was their ire toward billionaire Elon Musk, the director of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a temporary organization established when President Donald Trump took office on Jan. 20.
Demonstrators were irate that Musk and a handful of young aids gained practically unfettered access to sensitive information at the U.S. Treasury and other departments. Protestors called it an attempted coup, with one person telling the crowd to "stand up against this far-right takeover of our country."

Protestors waved American flags and carried signs in support of the Constitution and the LGBTQIA + community. There were also chants like "Elon Musk has got to go," "No Nazi nepo babies," "We are not going to give up," and "We will not let them take our rights."
"We’ve been taken over by billionaires who now control the payment system for our entire government," said one of the demonstrators.
"We’re Americans and it’s time we start acting like a country by the people, for the people, and of the people," another protestor said.
The protest became so large that police shut down one side of Beacon Street, redirecting traffic away from the State House.
There was one MAGA counter-protestor whose sign was seized and shredded by the crowd almost instantly. He shuffled away after a minor confrontation.
