Hy-Line Cruises Adds Ticket Surcharges Due To High Fuel Costs

HYANNIS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hy-Line Cruises has added a ticket surcharge for its passengers due to high fuel costs.

The surcharge is $3 for a one-way trip and $6 for a round trip. There is also a $30 surcharge for a commuter book, which consists of 10 one-way tickets.

Fuel prices have skyrocketed globally in recent months due to inflation. According to Hy-Line, their fuel costs have more than doubled since last year.

"Up until now, we have been hoping to absorb the price, but we just aren't able to do that anymore with the dramatic increase," said Hy-Line Cruises president Murray Scudder.
