HYANNIS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The body of a 55-year-old fisherman has been recovered after his boat capsized and he went missing on Saturday night.
It was a long night for the rescue crew aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sanibel as they searched the waters off Hyannis, following reports of the fishing boat overturning near Lewis Bay with two men onboard.
One man was said to be clinging to the side of the boat when a Good Samaritan pulled him from the water and brought him ashore, but the second man had reportedly vanished in the waves, according to WBZ-TV.
Local officials, the Coast Guard and a Dive Team launched the search for the 55-year-old man at around 8 p.m. Saturday. By 8 a.m. Sunday, a Coast Guard helicopter out of Cape Cod had located the body of the fisherman, who was not wearing a life jacket.
