NEWBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A section of I-95 North is back open outside the Newbury village of Byfield after a serious crash Thursday morning. State Police say a car rolled over on the highway.
WBZ Traffic's Kristen Eck reports that the car flew off the road and flipped over, before slamming into the guardrail right-side up. Traffic was completely closed off to a section of the highway as med-flight helicopters were bought in to take two victims in the car to the hospital. The Newbury Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to claw the victims out of the car.
State Police said their injuries are serious, but not life-threatening. The highway reopened at about 7:00 a.m.
