BRAINTREE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio— Are you in an urgent need for something sweet? The Ice Cream Emergency truck is here to the rescue.

Owners Matt and Katherine Montmeny of the South Shore and Greater Boston based mobile ice cream franchise said this is not an average ice cream truck.

“By all means, you’re getting a real sundae,” Matt told WBZ NewsRadio. “You’re not getting something just like a sandwich.”

The truck is a fully operating ice cream shop on wheels, with a variety of flavors and toppings to choose from.

“[There’s] hot fudge, there’s caramel, there’s marshmallow… we got it all,” Matt continued.

The couple decided to hop on the mobile sweet treat business after Matt was diagnosed with brain tumor and decided to simplify their lives.

“We wanted to do something that could bring us some joy and bring other people some joy,” Katherine explained.

Their favorite part about the job is seeing their customers experience that joy.

“Their eyes light up and everything is so exciting,” Katherine added. “They love the whole experience.”

Ice Cream Emergency also caters to school and private events. It’s a unique addition unlike anything else.

“This is a real treat” Matt said.
