STOW, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Stow Cafe has signs plastered across the building shaming ICE operations following the detainment of the Cafe owner.

Max Fernandes, owner of the Stow business, was detained on Wednesday morning by ICE officers. While Stow Police say they were not involved, they do say their understanding of Fernandes’s detainment is due to an indecent assault and battery case on a person over 14.

Fernandes’s wife shared that while it has been a difficult time, the community of Stow has been coming together to show support. Senator Jamie Eldridge and Representative Kate Hogan say they are assisting the family.
