BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — We're are about a week away from ripping off wrapping paper from gifts stacked under Christmas trees, whether we want the gift or not. That it begs the question: is it acceptable to return or regift an unwanted present? Not everyone agrees.
“I think it’s kind of a jerk move to return the gift to be honest,” one man in Boston told WBZ NewsRadio.
“I don’t return it, I feel like it’s a slap in someone’s face," one woman said. "I’d rather regift it later or hand it down to somebody." However, another man disagreed, saying if you don’t like the gift, “return it, no hard feelings.”

Some said that regifting is even too much.
“I’ve regifted a little house gift you know, like a little party gift but I’ve never regifted a Christmas present,” a woman said.
Others feel that there is a statute of limitations to when it is acceptable to return a gift after receiving it.
“I guess I would probably say the next day, give [the gift] a chance,” someone added.
