BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celtics traded Isaiah Thomas nearly two years ago, but—not long ago—he was Boston's 29 point-per-game All-Star.
Thomas will return to the Garden tonight with his Nuggets—and maybe finally get that tribute video he's been wanting—though it's possible the guard won't play. His hip's healthy, but he's fallen out of Denver's tightened rotation.
Still, Thomas is thrilled to be back. He experienced his highest of highs and lowest of lows during his time in Green, but developed a special bond with the city.
Thomas even went and played in a pick-up game with students at Emerson College yesterday after arriving in town.
Several of the kids who played took pictures with Thomas and tweeted them with captions like, "Thanks for staying around to make some of our childhood dreams come true. It was an honor to meet you and watch you play," and, "Definition of what it means to play for a city. This man loves Boston, and we love him back. Miss you, Isaiah Thomas. #BleedGreen."
Thomas will definitely hear it from the Garden crowd tonight.
