Isaias Damages Property, Leaves Thousands Without Power In Massachusetts

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Dozens of downed tree branches and power lines were reported across eastern Massachusetts on Tuesday night, after Tropical Storm Isaias hit the region.

In Framingham, Peggy McCarthy told WBZ NewsRadio the winds had caused a tree limb to fall through the back window of her car. which was parked in her driveway.

"We were in the house, playing Yahtzee, when a tree came down and hit the car," she said. "What can you do? Nobody was hurt, that's the important thing."

The owner of Amazon Tree Services, Daniel De Silva, said his phone has been ringing off the hook since the storm came through.

"Two houses already today we've used the crane, and took the tree from the middle of the house," said De Silva. "I don't know if I'll be able to get everything done today, but I'll try and do my best."

According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, by 1 p.m. Wednesday there were still around 112,000 homes and businesses across the state without power.
