Celtics Kemba Walker Says It "Would Suck" If Fans Were Banned From Games

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Several industries across the world are feeling the impact of coronavirus more than others. That includes the travel, hospitality, and entertainment industries. In Italy, sporting events are going ahead, but spectators are not allowed inside the stadiums.

Boston Celtics All-Star Kemba Walker said it "would be terrible" if the team had to play in front of an empty room.

According to sports reporter Tom Westerholm, Walker said "they might as well cancel the whole game before that. That would suck." L.A. Lakers power forward LeBron James agreed, saying he wouldn't play a game if there were no fans in the stands.

The comments came after the NBA issued a memo to all 30 teams saying if it becomes necessary, they should have a plan to play future basketball games in empty arenas, like they are currently doing in Italy where the virus has now killed 366 people.
