HINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A cyberattack on a major Whole Foods distributor has left some shoppers unable to find their favorite items at their local store.

Whole Foods’ top distributor, Providence-based United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI), had to move some of their systems offline because of unauthorized activity. As a result, it has impacted warehouses, deliveries, and orders all over the country.

“I’m going to have to go to another place,” said one shopper.

There are nearly three dozen Whole Foods scattered across the Commonwealth. Tom said he does his grocery shopping at the location in Hingham, Mass., but with some of his items missing from the shelves as he shopped Wednesday morning, he was forced to head to a different grocery store.

“It’s more of an inconvenience in that I’ve got to figure out what other stores we need to go to to get the rest of our supplies,” said Tom.

Lauren has a restricted diet due to a medical condition and Whole Foods has been her go-to for food shopping.

“I’m pretty concerned,” said Lauren. “Usually, I’m not that concerned about things like this, but in this case, I am.”

UNFI said they hope to have systems online and everything fixed by the weekend.
