It's No Shrieking Shack; Salem Woman Runs Popular Harry Potter Airbnb

SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) —It's the middle of October, and the "Halloween Frenzy" is alive and well in Salem, which means business is booming for a Harry Potter-themed Airbnb.

Muggles from all over the country converge on the Witch City this time of year, and this Halloween, a lot of Potterheads have reserved this magical Airbnb.

"This is officially the Salem School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and it is the home for all Potterheads, and witchcraft and wizardry fans," said owner Hope Carpenter.

As an artist and a Harry Potter fan, this has been a labor of love for Carpenter, who says she spent a lot of time creating this magical little universe.

This Airbnb is no "Shrieking Shack," you can sit in the Gryffindor Common Room, grab a bite to eat in Mrs. Weasley's Breakfast Nook or check out some potions. Her goal when you walk in, is to make it feel like you're on set of the movies or you've walked right into one of the books. She added, you don't need a broom to fly to Hogwarts anymore.

"It's just a labor of love dedicated to people that love that universe as much as I do," said Carpenter.

She said this house has been so much fun to create. In fact, the Salem School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is so popular it is almost sold out for the month of October next year.

In addiitonIn addition, Carpenter is already booking rooms for 2023.
