It's Not Quite Sweater Weather Yet In Boston

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Almost two weeks into the start of the “–ber” months and that means sweater weather is upon us, but not quite yet in Boston.

That’s because Boston is still in the transitional period between summer and fall, when the morning sends chills down our spines but warms back up by midday.

This makes preparing for outfits a little complicated and strategic.

“Usually, I think having layers is the best way to go about it,” one Bostonian told WBZ NewsRadio’s Chaiel Shaffel.

With temperatures in Boston still resting in summer digits, shorts and t-shirts are still an outfit staple for another local resident. “Generally speaking, I always like being in shorts [because] it’s comfortable.

The Autumn Equinox, a phenomenon that signifies the start of the autumn season, is expected to arrive on Sept. 22.

“So, in terms of sweater weather, think about 15 degrees [Celsius],” a visitor with an accent added. That would be 59 degrees Fahrenheit for us.

This week’s highs are expected to reach around 80 degrees and around 60s in the mornings.
